The Committee on Roads and Transportation moves to amend the bill on page one, after the enacting section, by striking out the remainder of the bill and inserting in lieu the following:

“ARTICLE 3. ORIGINAL AND RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION; ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF TITLE.

§17A-3-14a. Issuance of special "In God We Trust" and “Friends of Coal” registration plates.

(a) Notwithstanding the provisions contained in section fourteen of this article, the division may issue special registration plates that read "In God We Trust" and special registration plates that read “Friends of Coal”.

(b) Upon appropriate application, the division may issue a special registration plate authorized in subsection (a) of this section for any number of vehicles titled in the name of the applicant.

(c) The division shall charge a special initial application fee of $10 in addition to all other fees required by law for a registration plate issued under this section. The fee shall be collected by the division and deposited in the State Road Fund.

(d) Special registration plates issued pursuant to this section are subject to the requirements for registration plates provided in subsections (a), (b), (g), (h) and (i) of section fourteen of this article.”
